4th EIFFEL Think Tank meeting
WHEN: 9. - 10. March 2010
WHERE: Brussels, Belgium
Background of EIFFEL
For those of you who do not know what EIFFEL is about, a short introduction.
The EIFFEL think tank was established in the beginning of 2008 as a group of individual researchers debating the roadblocks and visions towards the Future Internet. The necessity for a debate among researchers in a retreat-like and consensus-building manner is instrumented by a so-called specific support action (SSA) within the European Framework Programme (FP7). The EIFFEL think tank has since then gained momentum in the mentioned series of events through a growing group of think tank members that attend these meetings to participate in the debate.
Objectives of the meeting
The meeting will continue the series of think tank events planned under the EIFFEL initiative. The first of this series took place in Frankfurt/Langen at the end of September 2008, the second one in London on February 16/17, 2009 and the third one in Athens on October 6/7, 2009. The objectives of the Brussels meeting are to continue the debate on disagreements in Future Internet research. More specifically, we intend to focus the contributions and discussions on particular disagreements that will be reflected in the soon-to-be-public agenda for the meeting.
Approach of the meeting
Following our identified approach in London, we will seek contributions to each disagreement, representing opposing viewpoints to these disagreements. Furthermore, we will break into separate groups, further debating the issues around the disagreements. We are also looking into dedicating a slot to possible architecture discussions with a similar break-out group structure. The records of all these presentations and discussions will directly be fed into our growing wiki at
